Michael Carroll

Michael Harold CarrolL 2/17/1914 - 6/9/2011 Mike Carroll was born at home in Valentine Neb on 2/17/1914 and died peacefully at his home away from home with his family surrounding him. He was the 4th of 13 children born to Joseph and Mary Carroll. He was a member of the Lakota Sioux from the Rosebud on his mothers side. At age 17 he hopped a train and rode the tracks from Neb to Id looking for work. After a brief stint in Emmett he made his way to the Cascade area where he took up horse logging. During this time he started working a silver mine on Packer John for Earl Carroll and subsequently met and married the bosses daughter, Ruth Zell Cantrall on Oct 7th 1940. Mike and Zell started a family a few years later with twins Larry and Garry and 13 years later with son Earl. Mike later relocated his family to Boise where he was a log scaler for the State Department of Lands until his retirement. During those years he started and ran Carroll's Christmas Tree business every year for 30 years with the help of his sons. Mike was always an outstanding roll model for those he knew and worked with. His work ethic and integrity were to be admired. With family he was beyond loving, generous, fun loving, and most of all gentle. He doted on the grandchildren, Lindsey and Kelly (Larry & Susan), and Brandi & Michael (Earl & Janine) that came along and always had to have his fix even if it meant traveling for a few hours to get to them. Mike is survived by his wife and companion of 70+ years, his sons, Larry, Garry, and Earl and their families. We the family would like to acknowledge all the wonderful people at Paramount parks in Eagle for the loving care they have extended to Mike and Zell in the few months they have been there. We are also extremely grateful for the loving care given to them while still living at home by; Lisa, Tabitha, Cindy, Alma and Marie. Without you we could not have kept them in their home as long as we did. May each and everyone who's life touched Mike's have our Blessings.

Sharon Gremling

Dale Raymond Taylor October 31, 1930 - June 4, 2011 Dale we wanted all those who hadn't the pleasure of knowing you to get a little glimpse of you from those who loved you. Before going further Dale, we'll leave an address for those who would like to meet you and your Maker or even rekindle a friendship. That address can be found in the New Testament, John:3:16 free of charge. Since you have experienced the total new body makeover we know how much you can appreciate the improvement; but, for the sake of reminiscing, you are stuck with the old one we knew. First of all you had an exceptional ability for fixing anything from reassembling a grandfather clock to transmissions. It didn't come as any surprise when after mastering the Rubik's cube you proceeded to tear it apart to see if it was constructed the way you thought it was...and of course it was. Hunting was another one of those joys that many have, but didn't master nearly as well as you did. You forgot more about elk than the "Fish and Game" biologist ever knew concerning their habits and nature. By the way, you were a man's man...and the woods were your home. The list of your accomplishments are too numerous to mention. Ruby will be diligently looked after till she joins you. Your love of family will continue on. Your kids are made of strong stuff as I know you are aware. You were so very good to a paricular nephew and brother-in-law and are loved by them. God bless you Dale, through him we will see you again. Friends and family are warmly invited to a celebration of your life at 3304 N Lakeharbor Ln, Boise, 83703 on June 12th, 5:30 -7:30. There will be your music, your stories, and food. XOXO

Sidney Coy

Sidney William (Bill) Coy 1913 - 2011 Sidney William (Bill) Coy passed away at his home on Monday, June 6 at age 97. He was born on Dec. 28, 1913, in Boise, to Lucinda Blanche (Morris) Coy and Sidney William Coy. His life will be celebrated in a private family gathering on Sunday. Bill was a very private person with a great zest for life and fun and plants and family. He grew up hiking, camping, and fishing in southern and central Idaho in the 1920's. He felt a great passion, respect, and responsibility for our beautiful environment and water resources. Music was an essential part of Bill's life. He played violin and joined the Syncopators, a dance band, at age 16, after graduating early from Boise High School, and played in dance bands for several years. Bill's professional life with Idaho Power Co. began in 1935. He retired as Assistant Treasurer in 1978 after 43 years with the company. During that period, he was active with the Elks and the Idaho Heart Association. Bill spent his life nurturing his plants and his family. He designed and built his first greenhouse at age 16 and that love turned into a part-time business which he and his wife, Dorothy, operated until 1970. He also designed and built the former family home on Cassia Street and a vacation cabin on Cascade Reservoir. Bill and Dorothy were married on Dec. 31, 1938, in Boise, and celebrated their 72nd anniversary this past December. They raised three daughters, and have seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Bill loved to travel. He and Dorothy made several trips to Mexico with their travel trailer, including a well-remembered trip on a train caravan down the Copper Canyon. They also made several visits to Hawaii with family members. Bill's survivors include his wife, Dorothy, three daughters and sons-in-law: Dianne and Eric Carlson, Lake Oswego, Oregon, Nancy and Jim Arnett, Star, Idaho, and Susan and Wes Worcester, Meridian, Idaho, and seven grandchildren: Rob Carlson, Tim Arnett, Kristin Palmer, Tracy Worrell, Gina Coy Ransom, Scott Worcester, and Jamie Worcester.
