Michael Douthit

Michael John Douthit Michael John Douthit, 41, passed away April 19, 2011. Although broken hearted, we are thankful for the blessings, joy, and love he brought into all of our lives. Mike was able to touch countless people with his caring, and compassionate nature. Mike had a special gift to befriend people where ever he went. The number one focus in Mike's life was his family, especially his beautiful daughters, Mckenna and Derika. His favorite thing to do was spending time with them. As many of you know, he was very proud of his daughters and the joy they brought to him. Mike often said, "They are the loves of my life." Mike's best friend was his brother Ron. They were partners in business and best fishing buddies. Truth be told, there were days when Mike would just say, "I know there's a lot of work to do Ron, but let's go fishing." Mike loved sharing the joy of fishing with others, and was always happy to teach a new friend. He loved watching someone else reel in a fish as much as he liked catching one himself. Mike and many of his friends spent hours in his boat, "Draggin Balls". MIke was a passionate fisherman, and a member of the Intermountain Bass Anglers Club in Nampa. He was known to be somewhat forgetful at times. Often his sister Heidi would make sure that he had his phone, sunglasses and wallet to get him through the day. It will always be remembered that Mike could somehow find it possible to fit in a nap on the floor when visiting his mom, Pat, even with all of the kids running in and out of the living room jumping over him. Mike was born October 13, 1969 in Puyallup, Wash. He was the son of John and Patricia (Portmann) Douthit. Mike is survived by two beautiful daughters, Mckenna and Derika Douthit of Boise, Idaho, his mother, Patricia Douthit of Nampa, a brother and sister in law, Ronald and Gloria Douthit, of Meridian, a sister and brother in law, Heidi and John Shumate of Nampa and his nieces and nephew Nicole, Andrew and Emily Douthit and Paisley Shumate. He was preceded in death by his father, John Douthit. The family will greet friends and family from 4 to 6 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. Monday April 25, 2011 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel 415 12th Avenue South. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 26, 2011 at St. Paul's Catholic Church located at 1515 8th street south in Nampa, Idaho. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. All are encouraged to join us for a luncheon following services in Dempsey Hall at St. Paul's Catholic Chruch. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to the Mckenna and Derika college fund account for his daughters at the Chase Bank. Please send memorials to John Shumate, 98 N. Cimarron Ct., Nampa, Idaho 83651 and he will be the caretaker of the Chase account.

Traci Siefkes

Traci L. Siefkes 1968-2011 Traci was born on February 5, 1968 in Billings, Mont., to Bev and Roger Siefkes. She passed away at the Good Samaritan Society - Boise Village in Boise, Idaho on April 15, 2011. Traci was born with cerebral palsy, but she was brave and courageous and did her very best to enjoy life. She attended schools in Minnesota, South Dakota and Virginia. On October 1, 1993 Traci took up residence at the Human Service Agency in Waterown, S.D., where she lived until January of 2010. Wilma Madsen

Wilma Janett Chapman Madsen 1922 ~ 2011 A few days after her 89th birthday, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Wilma Janett Chapman Madsen, passed away on April 21, 2011 of natural causes at the home of her daughter. She was surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was born on April 1, 1922, in Rigby, Idaho, to George Sylvester Chapman and Nellie Dowdle Chapman. George was a dairyman and during the summers Wilma and her sisters sold ice cream from a horse drawn cart. Their motto was, "You can whip our cream but you can't beat our milk". Wilma and her future husband, Nile Baxter Madsen, lived on adjacent Rigby farms. While growing up, Nile used to snitch strawberries from her father's strawberry fields. After graduating from Rigby High School, Wilma moved to Salt Lake City and attended Henager Business School where Nile was also attending school in the big city. Because they were lonely Idaho farm kids, they became close friends, started dating and fell in love. They were married for time and eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 4, 1942. While living in Salt Lake City, Wilma gave birth to their first son, Steven. During World War II, Nile served in the Army. After the war, they returned to live in Idaho Falls, Idaho where their first daughter, Claudia was born. Eighteen months later, Claudia died of a childhood illness. Following the death of Claudia, Wilma said, "I never want my arms to be that empty again." That desire never faded, as her eight children, twenty- nine grandchildren and forty-nine great grandchildren were the blessings and the joy of her life to the very end. In 1955 the family moved to Boise, Idaho and into the little home on Gem Street where they raised their seven children and lived for 55 years. Wilma was an excellent bookkeeper and worked at Falk's Idaho Department Store and Madison's Furniture Store until her retirement. After she retired, she and Nile served as ordinance workers at the Boise, Idaho LDS Temple from the day it opened and then for another eleven and one half years. She had a life-long commitment to the LDS church where she served as Primary President, Relief Society President and devoted visiting teacher. Wilma was a gifted cook and artisan sharing her talents with her family, neighbors and friends. Her hands were never idle. She loved knitting and crocheting but her real claim to fame was the beautiful Barbie doll clothes that she designed and sewed. Her Barbie Doll clothes were sold for many years at Beau Arts in Boise and Mormon Handicraft in Salt Lake City. Nile and Wilma spent 67 wonderful years together before his passing in November 2009. Wilma is survived by her children, Steven of the Oregon Coast, Dennis (Pat) of Mill Valley, CA, Dianne Theurer (Ty) of Salt Lake City, UT, Gaylynne Simpson (Gordon) of Boise, ID, Marlene Andersen (Kent) of Idaho Falls, ID, Janet Rogers (Dave) of Boise, ID, and Tracy (Shelli) of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwen Johnson of Pleasant Grove, UT, and Loa Joy Wilding of Lindon, UT. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nile; her beautiful daughter, Claudia; parents; five brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Goddard Road, LDS Chapel, located at 8620 Goddard Rd., Boise, ID. The family will greet friends at a viewing to be held on Wednesday evening, April, 27th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Relyea Funeral Chapel at 318 N. Latah St. Boise, Idaho and on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment will follow in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Relyea Funeral Chapel. Any tributes and condolences can be left at www.relyeafuneralchapel.com.
